Sean R. Hutchinson is a Founding Partner and Director of Appellate Practice at DLEI&D. Sean concentrates his practice on appellate litigation and dispositive motion practice in complex matters involving construction accidents (New York Labor Law §§ 240 and 241[6]), premises liability, trucking accidents, construction defect claims, and commercial contract disputes.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Sean worked as a mechanical engineer for a prominent New York City engineering consulting firm. Sean draws on his engineering background and technical problem-solving experience in handling complex liability, construction, property damage, and transportation-related litigation.
Sean regularly handles significant appeals and high-level motion practice involving complex liability and evidentiary issues. He works closely with trial counsel and clients to develop litigation and appellate strategies designed to position cases for successful resolution both at the trial and appellate levels.
Sean is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York. Sean received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
Outside of his legal practice, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and volunteering within his local church community.
